Product Description
KleenGuard™ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) enables rather than inhibits – allowing for maximum productivity and safety for you and your employees. Giving your employees what they need to do their job safely and effectively is a top priority of any business owner, and KleenGuard™ Nemesis Polarized Safety Glasses are a leader in affordable eye protection. The smoke-tinted lenses are polarized for superior optical clarity, even outdoors as sunglasses in bright sunlight, meeting the EN 1836 4.1.4.2 standard for polarization quality. They help reduce the glare of reflected light, decreasing the risk of eye stress and eye fatigue. The polycarbonate lenses provide 99.9% UVA/ UVB/UVC protection to help prevent eye damage like cataracts, retinal damage, and other conditions that can cause temporary vision loss. The wraparound frame has a base curve of 8 that extend the range of peripheral protection, as well as soft touch temples for comfort. Each pair of KleenGuard™ Nemesis Polarized Safety Glasses come with a neck cord, so that the glasses are ready to protect at a moment's notice. The safety eyewear is manufactured to exceed the (ANSI / ISEA) Z87.1+ standard for personal eye protection. The EN166 7.3.1 “K” mark lets you know that they feature superior anti-scratch performance, for increased durability. In fact, the KleenGuard™ Nemesis Polarized Safety Eyewear lens coating beat 10 out of 10 competitive lenses in tests for resistance to surface damage by fine particles. Both men and women will find these stylish glasses comfortable and functional for construction, manufacturing, gun shooting / shooting range, and a host of other industries. Making the right Personal Protection choice is difficult. Perform with distinction with KleenGuard™ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The nose pieces: Yes, they are flimsy, and they fall off. If you are aware of this, you might either 1) go ahead and superglue them in place, or 2) catch them when it happens. I personally liked the sunglasses enough that when I lost a nose piece the first time, I simply used hot glue to fashion a new one! It's not fancy, but it's not like anyone actually sees the nose piece other than you right?
The width of the glasses when folded...this is because they are protective glasses; they are not necessarily meant to be everyday wear. My husband, when he wears them, simply places them about his neck when not wearing them. I have done the same on occasion; I also simply place them in my purse. Yes, you run the risk of scratching the lenses in this case. Look for one of those little soft cloth baggies to carry them in.
The smoke tinted lenses: The protection is dark enough for strong sun, but also light enough that they still work for an overcast day. I have grabbed these at $15 (and if you use subscribe and save, you can get them for $11!) and try to keep a few spares on hand. They do not fit into any standard glasses cases, they are 'safety goggles' after all, but I like them just fine as every day sunglasses. Both I and my husband use them regularly and I highly recommend them. My husband is fairly OCD and cannot stand ANY scratches on the lenses at all; this is why, at $11 with subscribe and save, I find these to be such a lucrative deal!
The amber tinted lenses are perfect for any overcast day, and I have also found them helpful for when my eyes are fatigued after staring at my computer all day long. I have used them indoors when fighting headaches; the nice thing about both of these tints is that they are dark enough to help against lighting but not too dark that they hamper anything that you are trying to do.
TLDR: Compared to $20 or more for polarized sunglasses at Walmart that may or may not cover your entire field of vision, you can't go wrong with these for $15 or less. Watch the nose pieces; glue them in place, and as with ANY sunglasses, protect the lenses from scratches! These will not fit into any standard glasses cases, so a cloth bag is probably your best bet.
I got these in the "smoke color" to use as sunglasses for driving. They make great driving sunglasses, as the polarized lens cuts the sun glare reflecting off of other cars. They're very dark, which I like because my eyes are very sensitive to light when driving. The frames are also very comfortable, with the part that goes over your ears being soft, rubbery, and flexible. I can't say how durable they are, as I just started using them. The only downside is that they're so dark that it makes it harder to read my on-dash GPS.
Polarized lenses are also great for fishing or boating, because the polarized lenses help cut glare from the water, allowing you to sometimes see underwater and see fish, rocks, or obstacles to the boat. The cord that goes around your head would be useful while boating, so you don't lose them if you drop them or if you fall overboard (I've lost other sunglasses that way while canoeing or kayaking).
Fit:
These glasses fit my small head quite well. They aren't so ridiculously wide that I look like a clown. However, the temples do extend farther than they need to for me. They fit snug enough not to fall off as soon as I look down (which I need to do a lot). The nose pads are very soft and grippy, which is good. My face is usually coated (caked) with sunscreen, sweat, grass, and sand (in that order) and these don't slither off of my face.
Comfort:
This is the first flaw with these glasses (for me). While they are very comfy with nothing else on my head, the temples dig in to my head as soon as I put on over-ear hearing protection. The temples are just a little too chunky and it takes me a while to find a comfortable spot for them to sit. If you don't need hearing protection or you use plugs, no worries (mon, every ting gonna be alright).
Optics:
I am very blessed to have good vision and not need any correction. I don't like it when glasses distort my vision. These had very little distortion (not enough for me to notice). The polarized lenses do a great job at cutting glare too. I haven't had any trouble with fogging either. The tinting is not too dark and not too light. I can go from the Sahara desert part of the golf course to the Vietnam jungle part and still be able to see where I'm going. The boss wouldn't be too happy if I parked a cart in a ravine (again) because I couldn't see.
Build Quality:
This is the other point of disappointment with these glasses. I hoped the construction would be better than my $5 Radians. At $20, it seems like they should be better. Ehh, not really. They seem like the same material as the Radians and the joint where the temples fold is held in with a screw that doesn't go through both sides of the hinge. It just pops into a little indent on one side, which results in flexing, which results in wear, which results in breakage, which results in a drug deal gone bad (wait no, that's not right, too many DirecTV commericals).
Overall:
Good but not great. They do their job well, but I have a feeling they won't last very long.
